Happy Easter Around The World

Painted eggs are common Easter food in several cultures.
Here's a little Easter greeting to all of you who celebrate this tradition this weekend.

Now, Good Friday has passed, and the day when all stores are closed, is over. Many businesses continues to remain closed throughout the Easter weekend, but there is no doubt that Good Friday is a day when you can not do anything.

But today it is Easter Saturday and it's time to tuck into Easter food. In different cultures, it means different things, but most people have a lot of food to feed the stomach with.

Though Easter and Easter celebrations comes from religious ancestry, does not mean that it has disappeared from the modern and secular cultures. But it is a celebration that has changed. In the world's Christians secular cultures, Easter has become an excuse to have a party, hang out with the family and friends, and have time off from work and school.

Change is inevitable in society and it is good that traditions can evolve and move with the times. Globalization brings with it an encounter between different cultures and we need to understand each other's customs, so that we can live out our daily lives with our neighbors in the community.

Malta is not a secular country, but it carries many cultures. It is one of the factors which might create a gap between locals and expats.

I wish once again "Happy Easter" to all who celebrate this weekend!
