Gan Anton Vassallo- Famous Maltese poet, author and professor

Gan Anton Vassallo was born on the 6^th of June, 1817, and died on 28^th of March 1868. He was a famous poet and author who was famous for writing numerous literary works but was mostly remembered for his poem- Tifhira Lil Malta. Gan Anton was also known for his fluency in several languages, including Maltese, French, Latin, Italian, Arabic and English, and that made him to be one of the most respected authors in the history of Malta. He had begun his career by studying law at the University of Malta in 1839, and began teaching Italian at Liceo in 1850 before he became a professor in 1863.
