Awarded Beaches In Malta and Gozo

Gozo News writes that 3 beaches in Gozo and 9 in Malta have been awarded with the Blue Flag Eco
Label award by Blue Flag International, for achieving the world renowned eco-label trusted by millions around the globe. In order for beaches to qualify for this prestigious award, a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety – related and access-related criteria must be met and maintained.
Blue Flag noted that improvements have been made at Mellieha Bay from the previous years. and that Golden sands had maintained a high level after years failing to reach the Blue Flag status due to environmental issues considering this was a Natura 2000 site.
The beaches awarded are:

Gozo
Ramla Bay Xaghra managed by the Gaia Foundation,
Hondoq ir Rummien Bay Qala managed by the Malta Tourism Authority,
Marsalforn Bay Marsalforn managed by the Malta Tourism Authority.

Malta
Fond Ghadir Sliema Managed by Malta Tourism Authority,
St George s Bay St Julian’s managed by Malta Tourism Authority,
Westin Dragonara Beach Club St Julian’s managed by Westin Dragonara Resort,
Qawra Point Beach managed by the Malta Tourism Authority,
Bugibba Perched Beach St Paul’s Bay managed by the Malta Tourism Authority,
Mellieha Beach managed by the Malta Tourism Authority,
Golden Sand Beach Mellieha managed by the Malta Tourism Authority,
Ghajn Tuffieha Bay Mgarr managed by the Gaia Foundation,
Islands Edge Beach managed by the Paradise Bay Hotel.
