"Woman Leaders Are Still Considered A Joke"

 
Almost no women in Parliament.
Malta has a population of 415,196 which, gender wise, is more or less split in half: 208,380 women and 206,816 men.

"Woman leaders are still considered a joke...", according to Times of Malta
Out of 67 MPs to in the Parliament only 10 of those are women.

However, the present president of Malta is Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, a woman. The President is appointed by a resolution of the House of Representatives of Malta for a five-year term, taking an oath to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution.
